What is the process for Miss India Pageant

To apply for Miss India, one should follow the criteria which is:
- The applicant must be having an Indian Passport.
- The relationship status should be single and not married.
- Their height should be 5.3” or more without heels.
- The age group is 18 to 25 Yrs.
- Minimum Education qualification should be 12th pass.
After meeting up all the criteria, the next process is to register yourself on Miss Femina India’s Official Site. The process to register is as follows:
- Visit the official website (https://www.missindia.com) and fill the application form.
- Now upload the basic details asked such as Height, weight, Education etc.
- You need to submit three photo, a close up, a mid length and a Full-length.
Based on the application, contestant is shortlisted and than City Audition Is taken. In which contestent has to introduce them, walk on high heels, Fitness and Q&A Round. Shortlisted in city Audition, next Participation happens on State-level and on completion of State Level Competition the contestant will Participate directly in Femina Miss India’s national competition.
Who is Nikita Porwal
Nikita Porwal was born in 2000 in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. She has won Miss India Peagent in 2024 and will be presenting India in Miss Worls Competition in year 2026. She did her schooling from Carmel Convent Senior Secondary School in Ujjain. Nikita Porwal (now known as Miss India 2024) is a student of Bachelor of Performing Arts who majors in theatre. She is a 24-year-old Actress (Born in July 2000) who started as career as a TV anchor at the age of 18. She has performed as many as 60 plays portraying the roles of Radha, Seeta and Mohini and has also written a book title ‘Krishna Leela”. Nikita has also secured a leading role in the the Film ‘Chambal Paar’.
She has high interest in Storytelling, being born in Ujjain she has always been curious about traditions and beliefs. Due to her interest, she has deep understanding of Spiritual roots.
How Nikita Managed to win the award
The competition selected 30 State winners to compete for miss India which was held in Mumbai. Which was won by Nikita Porwal, leaving the first runner up Rekha Pandey. Her passion in theatre gave her an extra edge in the competition. She has exceptional communication skills. She also met all the physical requirement of the pagent following her rigorous training and Diet. She has a radiant smile with expressive eyes and natural beauty. One of the Major factor was her Q&A round in which she delivered her answer with Clarity, depth and poise which impressed the judges. She managed to win the crown as she was a Complete blend of Beauty, Brain and Confidence.
She said that her mom would dress her up as Miss India when she wasn’t even aware of it and from there to being the actual miss India has been a dream come true. She also said that she was kind of sure the she is going to win. She is first from Madhya Pradesh to have won the title of Miss India.

After winning the title she wishes to work in Bollywood and with a well-known producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She had always dreamt of being an actor and has shared her enthusiasm about being in the film industry. She does not come from any special background and wants to focus on becoming Miss World for next two years. She also wishes to use her platform for raising concerns about importance of mental health, women reproductive system and wants to promote positive thinking along with inspiring youths to follow their dream and passion in a way to create a positive society. She wishes to blend Modernity with Tradition and is also proud of having her opportunity to represent India on world stage.
